The Canary-Colored Caravan--Reading Response #2

While reading The Canary-Colored Caravan, I have discovered that I am not a big fan of comics. I never really understood the comic from beginning to end. What confused my the most was what the main topic was suppose to be. I didn't understand whether it was a story about what her family used to be like or whether it was about her relationship with her father. This comic left me with many questions at the end. Some of the questions were about certain parts of the comic in general, like was her mom having an affair when she was talking to that man? and what does the fact of her father suntanning have to do with the story? I like stories that go in more of a chronological order, and a reason why I didn't like this comic so much was because it jumped around a lot. I did find it unique how it stated in the beginning that her mother and father were both English teachers and that she was also in to writing as a career. I did pick up the fact that this comic never did mention how the father died. It stated a lot that the father did die, but never said how. Another question that I was left with was what kind of relationship did the writer have with her father? I kind of got the feeling that she was aggravated with him because he was always correcting her ways and she did not seem to like that. This is my opinion on the comic, and I understand that everyone has their own opinions.

  1. Well hello Zach, just letting you know that you are my final comment that I needed to get caught up on this blog stuff. This may not mean a whole lot to you, but I’m sure glad to be done. It looks as if you have a lot to do to get yours caught up, so if I was you I would just sit down one night and get it done. You can put it all on a hard drive so that all you have to do is transfer it to the blog. I think that is what I ‘m going to try to do so that I can just keep writing while I’m in the mood. I will also be glad to get this class over with out of all my classes this one and me digital class is got me so stressed out. With this class I have to have a C to pass and after today I’m not for sure I’ll make it. Then I’m spending the time on getting this done when I should be studying for my test on Monday. I know that the professors don’t care about how much is thrown at us because this is college and we just need to find ways to get it done. So here I am typing away, but it looks like I’m almost there e so I will start wrapping it up. Try to have a good day and good luck with the essay and the blogger.

  2. Haha Tina, it may seem like I only have two posts done but actually I have somewhere around 25! I first started off making posts like this one and the other one and got confused so I made tabs which are also on my blog. In those tags are where all of my posts are at. If that is what you are talking about then I have that figured out, but if you are actually talking about my comments and not my posts then there would be a little bit of truth to that. I only have fifteen or so comments posted on blogs and I need to start picking up the pace on those. I find it so much harder to comment on a post rather than post something all together. I appreciate you being alert about my blog and saying something about it though! I'm glad that this is your final comment so now you have more time to focus yourself on your other classes. Thanks for the idea of putting my comments on a hard drive but I think I am going to keep free handing them and let my brain do the typing in the moment. Good luck with the classes also! I am not quite sure what your digital class is but it sounds difficult! By the way, I just finished my essay over the movie "Think Like a Man" and thought of how you are doing the same movie, hope it isn't giving you too much trouble. Good luck to you too on the blogger and I wish you a great and stress free week!
